With Deutschrap Undercover, Burgeramt Berlin publishes a unique collection of packaging designs in cooperation with Stylefile and gives a behind-the-scenes look at the most popular Deutschrap packaging from the early 90s to the present day. To that end, author Vanessa Seifert interviewed graphic designers, photographers, and rappers to shed light on the creation of more than 70 covers. Because, in addition to the music itself, it is the works of art that are imprinted in our memory through personal experiences. We associate important phases of our lives with them, which we remember just by looking at the cover, or we feel sympathy when we discover someone's favorite record on the record shelf. Sometimes we forget the name of the recording, but the image remains in our minds. Now that includes origin stories.
