The birthplace of graffiti, New York City has evolved into a global center for street art. Its public spaces host a range of mediums from handmade stickers and wheat pastes to huge installations and murals. Artists from all over the world routinely travel to New York City to decorate its walls while transforming the city into one huge, never-ending unofficial street art festival. These include such contemporary urban legends as Shepard Fairey, Ron English, Okuda, MaClaim, Faith XLVII, Stik, Nick Walker, JR, and Swoon.
