With 544 pages, more than 2000 photos in ten chapters, as well as a variety of exciting and nuanced texts, it provides a deep insight into the breadth of MOSES & TAPS' work as a graffiti artist since 2011. The book shows how they managed to balance the bombing of trains and the artists they hired, and explains why the two worlds are not mutually exclusive. The monograph begins with an interview with MOSES & TAPS by criminologist Ike, in which she explores the question of what constitutes the graffiti avant-garde, who it is, what its goals are and what it controls. The TOPSPRAYER chapter, in which MOSES & TAPS take us through the various train stops from Russia to the USA, is followed by the SPLASH chapter, in which you will learn where you can leave color spray marks without using a fatcap and letters. The sceptre is then passed to ALIAS, whose declared 1001 trains in 999 days on 176 pages are topped by his stories and action photographs by Edward Nightingale. In Scratchiti, Moses shows why he paints glass panes to clean them, how he drives them from the train station to the museum and back, and we learn why he hates Mickey Mouse. In the chapter CORPORATE IDENTITY, Robert Kaltenhäuser deciphers how all chapters can be connected using the CI codes MOSES & TAPS, why yellow-blue works better than Banksy and what is behind it. In Image of Graffiti TAPS, he explains why graffiti must be illegal and reveals how one can still create an image of it on canvas. While the chapter SCHÖPFERISCHE ZERSTÖRUNG ("creative destruction") deals with the complexity of the works of MOSES & TAPS, which are expressed in collage works, the section KONZEPT-VANDALISM is devoted to their unique conceptual works on trains – and sometimes even on the walls inside. To conclude the book, in two separate chapters, MOJEŠ AND TAPS explain and illustrate their very personal approach to developing their styles.
